The Songwriter Sessions is a collection of songs from Nicole’s country catalog. She called this project the Songwriter Sessions because these songs were written with the intention for other artists to cut and record. Two of these songs, “Merica (Kenny Rogers - You Can’t Make Old Friends) and “Growing Her Wings” (Lauren Alaina - Wildflower) have already been recorded. She wanted to also record a Nicole Witt “raw” version of these songs. Not much track - just a lot of heart. Pete Sallis, a long time friend of Nicole’s coproduced the album. http://www.theoneandonlypetesallis.com/production
Nicole’s old childhood friend Melanie Thompson, designed this cover.

Today Country Super Star Lee Brice Has Released His New Album "I Don’t Dance”
Nicole cowrote Track No. 11 "Airport Song” with Lee Brice and Joe Leathers. The song was a true story and happened to Leathers 2 months prior to writing this song. The writers were on a retreat in Rosemary Beach and cowrote this song in 2008. 61/2 years later, the song found it’s way onto Lee’s next album. "I Don’t Dance” the lead single, has already gone to the #1 slot on country radio. It is also up from Song of the Year at the CMA’s in November. Lee’s album "I Don’t Dance” releases to today on ITUNES, Amazon etc. Below is part of the review from CMTChat live. Click this link below for the full article http://www.cmchatlive.com/lee-brice-i-dont-dance-album-review
The writer’s retreat at Rosemary Beach, FL pic (Kyle Jacobs, Lee Brice, Joe Leathers and Nicole Witt)
Lee Brice’s new album I Don’t Dance has been released. The fifteen-track offering has been highly-anticipated by Brice fans and country music fans alike, considering the overwhelming success of the debut single and title track from the project. Lucky for fans, they needn’t wait until September 9th to get a taste of what Brice is serving up with his next album, as the stream of the album was made available today (and can be found below).
Brice’s I Don’t Dance is a versatile collection of songs that range from power ballads to country rock, flawlessly accomplishing the task at hand and keeping listeners interested in what’s coming next. Songs like "Always the Only One” and "That Don’t Sound Like You” are deceiving at their inceptions, starting with quiet, simple instrumentation and exploding into faster tempo rock-influenced tracks, while "Hard to Figure Out,” "Panama City,” and "Whiskey Used to Burn” rely mostly on Brice’s gritty and gorgeous vocals to tell stories and evoke specific moods.
The album opens with Brice’s Number 1 hit and the title track of the album, "I Don’t Dance,” a soft, meaningful song which is a great warmup for the remainder of the album and the ride on which listeners are about to experience. Throughout the album, Brice takes his fans up, down, and on twists and turns, sprinkling humor, excitement, sadness, longing, humbleness, and vulnerability around every corner.Undoubtedly, Brice’s fans will be excited to find the comedic "Girls in Bikinis” (a song that grew legs on its own and ran rampant all summer) tucked safely in the middle of the album, surrounded by meaningful and emotional songs, providing an intermission before segueing into the half of the album that contains the most thought-provoking material. As stated previously in our review of the catchy song we heard during #ChevyCMA at SiriusXM The Highway’s studio, "[w]ith its catchy beat, comedic lyrics, and clever inclusion of a recognizable part of a hit song, [Brice's] fun, light-hearted ode to half-naked women is comprised of the equation for success.”
Other highlights on the album include "Hard to Figure Out (The Airport Song),” which is an inspirational song about appreciating what you have and recognizing that there are other people out there who are hurting more and more in need. The track encourages us not to take things for granted and to look beyond the tunnel vision of our own temporary problems and peripherally notice those around us and their struggles. The first chorus goes: "Just thank God for everything you’ve got, I felt so stupid being mad after seeing her so sad. I need to check my heart, I need to watch my mouth, have a little more faith, a little less doubt, it ain’t that hard to figure out.” The song will make you take a step back, reevaluate your life, and give thanks for the small things that you tend to overlook as you flow through your daily routine.
If fans are looking for a perfect follow-up to Hard 2 Love, they will not be disappointed in what Brice is delivering. The wait for new music was definitely worthwhile, as Brice is bringing to the table a wide array of flavors; all of which you will want to savor and revisit for another taste.
Check out Lee Brice’s I Don’t Dance below and click the iTunes banner to pre-order the new album, releasing next Tuesday, September 9th. Also, don’t forget to join #CMchat (http://www.cmchatlive.com/chat) on Monday night, September 8th, as we help Lee Brice celebrate the release of his album with a special Twitterview at 6pmPT/9pmET!

Nicole cowrites "Be The Change”, the debut single for BEC artist Shuree Rivera impacting this Friday August 8, 2014!
The Chicago-based artist’s label debut "Be The Change" will be releasing August 8, 2014. Shuree’s music is geared to inspire young people to live passionately, purposefully and powerfully for God in today’s society.
Shuree’s a powerful singer, a talented songwriter and an inspiring advocate for at-risk youth, but growing up in a broken home in Columbus, Ohio, Shuree’s future was anything but secure. Her young life was scarred by domestic violence and addiction among her family members, which led to hardship around every corner and culminated in the loss of her younger sister to a drug overdose.
Although her life has been filled with much heartbreak, Shuree’s positive attitude is due in part to powerful mentors who stepped in to fill the gaps left by Shuree’s tumultuous home life. Her past has also given her a heart for teen girls and reaching other hurting young women. However, her goal is to create music that isn’t just for one age group but to deliver hope.
"A lot of people have lost hope, have lost purpose, and I can speak life into that," shares Shuree of her message and music. "My story is what God has called me to share and the music is my avenue for doing that. I’m so passionate about reaching girls because I know where I might be without my godmother and mentor."
In fulfilling her calling, Shuree is partnering with organizations that are likeminded in ministry. She is proud to align herself with the wonderful work of Mercy Ministries, a faith-based residential program for woman ages 13-28, who face a combination of life-controlling issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, drug and alcohol addictions, depression and unplanned pregnancy. Knowing firsthand with her sister’s story, Shuree understands the importance of an organization like Mercy in the role of young girls’ lives. Today, Shuree is debuting a music video for her song from her independent release "One Girl Can Change The World" on the organization’s site. Click on the image below to see the empowering and upbeat video.
Her debut radio single "Be The Change" is a rousing anthem to inspire others to not just sit back, but to do something positive that could impact others for Christ, and that’s what she is committed to doing. As her career has continued on its upward trajectory, Shuree’s pop sound has matured and her message has become more strategic. Each song is grounded in scripture, and she’s not afraid to make her beliefs known. In the midst of it all, her passion for God and for life shines through.
Shuree’s label debut follows her successful independent release "One Girl Can Change the World" in 2012. With the launch of her indie project, Shuree travelled from church to church for the last two years, spreading her word of change and encouraging people that with God’s help, we can be powerful and make a difference. The music itself was so popular that a remix EP followed. Soon after, her infectious pop grooves with a message caught the attention of BEC Recordings.

We are God’s Hands and Feet

Nicole Co-writes A Song On Lee Brice's Third Studio Album, To Be Released 9/9/2014
Country star Lee Brice announces his third studio album to be released 9/9/2014. His interview in Rolling Stone magazine is below. Nicole has a song that she co-wrote with Lee Brice and Joe Leathers that will be on the record. Congrats Nicole!!
ByBEVILLE DUNKERLEY June 9, 2014 8:00 AM ET
"I'm a terrible dancer," Lee Brice tells Rolling Stone Country with a laugh. "I remember a fifth grade dance where they were picking out kids to come dance on stage. This was when MC Hammer was popular, and I thought, 'I can do that.' So I got up there and did the MC Hammer, and I looked so stupid!"
The country star still shudders at that awkward trip down memory lane and swears there's now only one person who can drag him onto a dance floor: his wife, Sara. The South Carolina native wrote his current single, "I Don't Dance," for his bride and originally meant for it only to be used as the first dance at their wedding. But he quickly realized he had a hit on his hands and not only released it to radio but also decided to title his upcoming album after the musical love letter, he reveals exclusively to Rolling Stone Country, along with its release date: September 9th. (See the I Don't Dance album cover art below.)
"Sara is an amazing dancer — it's the sexiest thing I've ever seen. And when she says, 'Baby, let's dance,' it's so intimidating. But just for her, I'll do it," Brice says of the title track's inspiration. He adds that calling the whole album I Don't Dance is also symbolic of his refusal to "dance in the box of Nashville."
The project is, without a doubt, the singer's most outside-of-the-box to date, as it infuses more rock, pop, soul and blues into his signature country sound. Brice also took sonic leaps in co-producing the album, recording the nostalgic love song, "Panama City" live with all musicians gathered around one piano, and playing almost every instrument himself — and whistling — on the frisky "Girls in Bikinis," which also sees him channeling a little Mick Jagger, looping in a line from "Honky Tonk Women."
"One thing I tried to do on this record is a lot of classic sounds, like on Bruno Mars' record, but with a lot of hip sounds that he just created in his mind, or whatever it may have been. I love putting classic steel guitar with a classic banjo — all those sounds meshed with new sounds I created in my head."
"Closer," which Brice co-wrote with Jerrod Niemann and Jon Stone, is perhaps the best example of a successful marriage of two very different sounds. The writing buddies were inspired by a riff on an old blues record and ran with that idea to another musical ballpark.
"We heard this raunchy, blues-driven guitar tone and said, 'Let's write something that feels like that,'" Brice recalls. "We wrote a verse, and then our brains just slipped into this old Nineties country chorus. We mixed an old blues song with country. I loved it but thought, 'Is this too weird?' So I played it for Sara, and she said it was the sexiest thing she'd heard in a long time."
Both melodically and lyrically, Brice continues to dodge being pigeonholed as a balladeer — and succeeds. Sure, his biggest hits are also his most sentimental ("A Woman Like You," "I Drive Your Truck" and the record-breaking song he co-wrote for Garth Brooks, "More Than a Memory," just to name a few), but he has always balanced the passionate with the playful and went to particularly great lengths on Dance to continue doing so.
"I've been sequencing this record for a year and a half. Every night, I lie in bed and think about sequencing this album," he says, rolling his eyes. "I don't know why I'm so obsessed with that, but I love records that flow and never lose you. It's like going to a Garth Brooks show. He will come out and do four or five uptempos, and then the show rests…. And then he comes back out, in your face again. A record should be that way, too."
Lee Brice's I Don't Dance, his third album on Curb Records, is out September 9th.

Happy New Year y’all!
We have just crossed the line into a new calendar year. It feels like we get to walk on a batch of fresh new white powdery snow. There are no mistakes. No bumps in the road yet. No pain. No hurt. No sorrow... Just a blank white canvas. A white canvas that we get to paint a brand new story on. God sent his only son Jesus to wipe our slates clean…He did that for us on the cross. All the ugly, all the human, all the nonsense…all gone. Like it never happened. The only thing he asks of us is to believe in him. That’s it. He promises us forgiveness and an eternity with him. There is a peace and a joy that comes with knowing how much we are loved. A Joy Unspeakable.
Mandisa just released her new album "Overcomer”. It is up for Grammy Christian Album of the year.
